Having never been to a steampunk event before, this was a bit of a baptism of fire! We tried to dress for the occasion but were completely blown out of the water – the outfits were absolutely stunning with a mixture of Mad Max and the 1800’s…and EVERYONE was dressed to impress!
This event was held indoors…on what turned out to be one of the warmest weekends of the summer!! Michael, the organiser, had arranged some cracking events to run alongside the trading which included meeting some beautiful owls (one of which had the hairiest toes ever!), singing and dancing by the Ravens Morris Dancers and a dog show! Mel was in heaven and frequently went AWOL from the stall talking to dogs…many of which were all dressed up in steampunk outfits too. Poppy deservedly won best dressed and wagiest tail!

Mel had to look twice when she took a walk up the main cobble street in Haworth and was passed by a pet duck being walked on a harness!
We have been lucky so far at these events to meet some really lovely people, and stallholders with incredible talent…not only for their own craft but, also at playing our instruments!!

With the instruments easily fitting into the ethos of steampunk, we hope to go to many more of these events. We’ve just got to up our game with the outfits! The next one is at Heskin Hall, Chorley on the 18th and 19th November. Hope to see some of you there!
